Will Hillary Rodham Drop the Clinton Name?

Faithful Conservative readers might recognize that every time I've referred to the Junior Senator from the State of New York, I've dropped her last name - the name that associates her with an ex-President. Now it seems that Hillary may be doing the exact same thing!! We all know that Bill and Hillary live by the polls. Well, the most recent poll shows that she needs to drop the last name to have any chance of capturing the White House in 2008. The poll shows that by focusing on her maiden name (Rodham), Hillary's percentage increases. Might Americans have learned something since her estranged husband left office in 2000?

When "Hillary Clinton" is matched up against John McCain in a hypothetical presidential election, she loses by a single percentage point. But if pollsters refer to her as "Hillary Rodham Clinton," she defeats the Arizona Republican by 7 percentage points. According to an poll conducted for CNN, which asked 506 adult Americans whom they preferred among potential 2008 presidential candidates, they chose Hillary Rodham Clinton to McCain by a 51 percent to 44 percent. But when the "Rodham" name was dropped, McCain had a 1 percentage point advantage.

It doesn't work if her opponent is former NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Even though the Queen of the Liars has an advantage over Giuliani with or without her maiden name, using "Rodham" tightens the race. Asked if they prefer "Hillary Clinton" or Giuliani, Hillary had a 4 percentage point advantage, 50 percent to 46 percent. But add "Rodham" and her edge over the former NYC mayor drops to 1 percentage point. Hillary knows this is not the first poll to show the disadvantage of her association with her buffoon husband. Look for her to focus on the "Rodham" during the next two years.

Hillary Loses Campaign Debate with John Spencer

Tonight Hillary Rodham finally had to face an unscripted, uncontrolled media event (imagine that!!) - a debate with her feisty opponent John Spencer, the Republican candidate for Senator from New York. Spencer threw out the ceremonial first pitch (a high fast ball) with his opening statement when he declared: "I am the only person here who really wants to be the Senator from New York... she wants to be President." And Spencer kept pitching fast balls across Hillary's plate all evening.

During the debate, Spencer highlighted Hillary's vote against the NSA's wiretapping program and her efforts to kill the Patriot Act. John Spencer began his challenge against the Queen of the Liars tonight. Hillary's huge financial advantage and her lead in the polls was of little use to her tonight because it was obvious that she was unprepared for the debate. While Hillary gave scripted, rehearsed answers, Spencer challenged her failure to deliver on her campaign promises of 200,000 new jobs and mocked her refusal to accept blame for anything, pinning the job loss on Bush and the North Korea bomb on the State Department.

But beyond the words, there were the appearances. Hillary Rodham looked more like Richard Nixon during the debate - wearing pancake makeup, featuring hooded eyes that never met the camera, and looking like she felt angry at having to waste time justifying her Senate tenure in something as trivial as an election. John Spencer may not beat Hillary, but he sure made her sweat tonight. If she wins by less than 12 points (the margin Lazio lost by in 2000), she will have a lot of explaining to do. And John Spencer may just be the guy to make it happen!!

IHERD Book Club: Public Education Against America

How would you feel if you could uncover the facts about our public skrewl system... facts that CBS News, PBS Radio, and the New York Times would never disclose? Now you can read about the agenda of America's public skrewl system in a book written by the late Marlin Maddoux (Foreword by Tim LaHaye). The book is titled Public Education Against America and tackles a number of issues, citing how the many controlling bodies within our education system have systematically ignored historical truth when it comes to patriotism and traditional religion in America.

Maddoux provides numerous illustrations of political correctness run amok, and cases where children's freedom of religion has been violated. After reading the first few chapters, one gets the obvious point that many public skrewls around the country have become indoctrination camps for the Liberal Left. As Maddoux states: "Often the change is so subtle that most parents don't notice until it's too late." The entire book carefully illustrates how public skrewls circumvent home values by stressing "values clarification" in the classroom. Teachers often use open-ended questions to cause confusion in the mind of a child, then use this as a tool for instilling doubt in a child's belief in moral absolutes.

Public skrewls are continually fighting for children's allegiance through a steady stream of anti-Christian propaganda. As a result of such influences, Maddoux suggests that powerful teachers' unions and Liberal school administrators have developed an atmosphere in which:

• There is no right or wrong, only conditioned responses
• The collective good is more important than the individual
• Consensus is more important than principle
• Flexibility is more important than accomplishment
• Nothing is permanent except change
• All ethics are situational
• There are no perpetrators, only victims
  

Perhaps the best part of this book is Maddoux's tips on how parents can take steps to protect their children. Christians and conservatives should stand up for their principles in the public venue. Parents should strongly consider taking their children out of the public skrewl system. James Dobson advised his listeners to do the same a few years ago. The book makes one thing perfectly clear: America's public skrewls are not making the grade, and the future of America's youth is at stake. Pop Culture Saturday: Online Gambling Goes All In, Loses

Pop Culture Saturday is intended to be a more light-hearted look at American culture. There's much more going on in America than the darkness of Liberalism.

Got game? That's the question millions of American online gamblers will be asking as Internet gambling companies begin refusing transactions. Passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act on September 30 has ended the party for online gambling companies based outside the United States. The Act requires financial institutions to block credit card and other payments to Internet wagering businesses. Internet gamblers are scrambling to find loopholes in the new law. But they'll be fighting a tide of new laws by this time next year. There are other bills on the horizon to enhance the Federal Wire Act.

News of the imminent prohibition sent two of the biggest online gambling companies into a tailspin. PartyGaming lost 58 percent of its stock value while 888 Holdings value dropped 26 percent. Both of these companies (based in Gibraltar) said they would halt transactions with American bettors if the bill is signed into law. PartyGaming receives 78 percent of its revenues from the United States. Mitch Garber, PartyGaming CEO, responded "This development is a significant setback for our company, our shareholders, our players and our industry." Hey, Mitch!! You should know the house always wins!! You gotta know when to fold 'em!!

The private nature of Internet gambling makes it more accessible by minors as well as more significant in addiction problems for people of all ages. Americans were expected to pay about $5.9 billion this year alone (about half of the $12 billion worldwide) on Internet gambling - and because we're so willing to bet online, we're obvious targets for money laundering schemes by drug traffickers and terrorist financiers. Thousands of families have faced financial ruin and bankruptcy because of Internet gambling addictions. The states have been finding it difficult to enforce because of the international nature of the Internet.

That's when it's time to call in the boys who brought down Al Capone. Participation of the Treasury Department will increase during the next 270 days. That's the number of days the Department has to enact further regulation of American transactions with these sites. The Department now has responsibility for monitoring, identifying, and blocking transactions between individual gamblers and gambling sites. The Act is merely one piece in an arsenal of laws intended to turn the tide of crime and addiction. By July 2007, the action against Internet gambling will have more teeth. This is only the beginning of the war on gambling - and the G-Men have not played all their cards.

Note: I believe that the government ought to regulate gambling until it's out of business. Government ought to regulate the pornography industry until it's out of business. Government ought to tax alcohol until no one can afford it. Government ought to tax cigarettes until no one can afford them. I also realize these sins will never disappear as long as someone can make money from their existence. All of these vices increase crime and decrease healthcare in the United States.

Big Liberal Lie: Global Warming Brings World Destruction

While we're on the subject of globalism this week, let's talk about one of the Liberal Left's convenient lies. I am sick of hearing the constant lies about global warming. Algore and his Liberal puppets have not been telling the whole truth: There is no scientific proof that global warming exists - and An Inconvenient Truth was just a Liberal money-making scheme gone awry. Yes, our planet goes through temperature changes. Even an eighth grade physical science student could understand that fact - unless he attended a public skrewl.

What the environmental wackos don't understand is that temperature changes have been part of the master plan since Genesis 1:1 (more precisely, Genesis 1:14). The inescapable truth is that earth's inhabitants have no affect on the temperature of our planet. If we did, where would the outrage be over global cooling? Never heard of this term, have you? Humans did not create the temperature cycle; therefore, humans cannot change the temperature cycle. It is prideful to think that we can! We can no more make it cooler during this cycle than we can heat the entire earth on the coldest days of winter.

By the way, have you been keeping up with the weather lately? (For the residents of South Florida, weather is something the rest of us face every day) A rare October snowstorm left parts of the Great Lakes and Midwest blanketed with 2 feet of snow this morning, prompting widespread blackouts, closing schools and stranding travelers. This heavy snow set the record for the "snowiest" October day in Buffalo in the weather service's 137-year history. You usually hear numbers like that associated with global warming. Detroit broke a record set in 1909. Chicago beat a mark from 1972. Today's snowstorm is not an isolated incident. The same storms have been happening for years.

Let me ask you - how many people are in freezing cold Buffalo saying, "Wow, this must be global cooling!" None - and I ask why not? The answer is because there's no unnecessary hysteria out there about global cooling. But as soon as it's a few degrees above normal in New York, how many people would be screaming, "This is all about global warming!" Bunch of idiots! The only reason you are hysterical is because you've bought into the great Liberal Lie about global warming. It's a lie that's intended to scare you... and make more money for the Liberal wackos. You wouldn't imagine going without heat this winter, would you? Put another log on the fire - it's going to be a cold one!

New Book: Global Revival and the Coming Persecution

We've all heard the cliche about the red-headed stepchild... the one person in the family who needed to be put away because he was an embarassment. It's the Liberal Left who has attempted to brainwash the weak-minded into thinking that the United States is the world's red-headed stepchild. As a result of the brainwashing, we've lost our American pride. I rarely ever see the "Made with American Pride" labels on my clothes anymore. The Liberal wackos would have us believe that Americans have gotten lazy. After 9/11 there was a tremendous surge of American unity and pride. Where are we now?

The question I would like to pose is "Would the world be better off if more countries were LIKE America?" What does LIKE America mean? Can we answer that politically? The answer is YES - the world would be better off if every nation were a Representative Democracy. The Liberal idiots even twist the meaning of that, my Conservative friend. Can we answer that economically? The answer is YES - the world would be better off if the people of every nation could toil for their own gain. I call it Free Market Capitalism, my friend. And the Liberal wackos twist that. Can we answer that spiritually? The answer is YES - the world would be better off if every nation had true freedom of religion.

Americans are the most giving people on the planet. All of the Americans I work beside contribute to charities that support people in third-world countries. I have been on mission work in the Southeast United States. I have been on mission work in Mexico. Is there anyone coming to America from Russia or China to share the gospel with my neighbors? The problem is that America is becoming more LIKE other countries than LIKE itself. We are losing our Representative Democracy and heading toward Benevolent Dictatorship. We are losing our Free Market Capitalism and heading toward government ownership. And we are losing our Freedom of Religion and heading toward radical persecution.

The world needs more Americans. We need to put more missionaries on foreign soil. We need to share the gospel with our neighbors. I am working on a new book, my Conservative friend. I have titled it Global Revival and the Coming Persecution. Recent world events not only in Iraq but also in North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan will shape our political and economic future. Leaders of the true Church are sensing an oncoming persecution. We must confront this persecution. If we face it, it will bring revival like we have never seen in America! As Americans we can respond. This is my America. I am an American. And because I am an American, I can help to spread the gospel.

Russian Military Supports Hezbollah Against Israel

There are more players in the Middle East than what the Liberal media would have you know. It became apparent on October 3 when 500 Russian military engineers arrived in Lebanon that Russia has aligned itself with the Hezbollah terrorists against Israel. This is the first time that Russian forces have openly deployed in the Middle East. The engineers are tasked with rebuilding bridges destroyed by Israel during the recent hostilities with Hezbollah - and they will be protected by Muslim commandos.

Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick has reported the move as part of Russia’s increasingly anti-Israel policy, and describes the support as giving ominous forebodings about Russian plans in the Middle East. "The Russian bear has awakened after 15 years of hibernation," she writes in a recent article. "The clouds of the coming war are converging upon Israel, but our political and military leaders refuse to look up at the darkening sky." Glick concludes: "Any objective observer of the developments in our region understands that the storm of war is rapidly approaching us. With Moscow’s blessing, the Palestinians, Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran are steadfastly preparing for battle."

Also in the article, Glick cited a recent report exposing Russia’s intelligence agencies as supporters of the terrorist organzaition during its war with Israel. According to Defense Weekly, a Russian listening post on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights gave Hezbollah a continuous supply of intelligence. That intelligence caused significant damage to Israeli operations, according to Glick. "It appears that Russia’s support for Hezbollah may well have been as significant as Syria’s support for the terror organization," she writes. These reports show the seriousness of the War on Terrorism - a seriousness that the Liberal wackos cannot understand.

Glick says recent speeches by Syrian President Bashar Assad indicate that Damascus feels Russia will support Syria if it goes to war against Israel. The columnist also points to Russia’s continuing support for Iran’s nuclear weapons program, highlighted by statements from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a recent visit to Tehran, that Russia opposes all international sanctions against Iran. The situation in the Middle East continues to heat up, my Conservative friend. We do not need to let the Liberal wackos determine the future by cutting and running from the War on Terrorism.

Conservatives Must Deal with Gays in Republican Party

Mark Foley is gone. The scandal involving a series of risque e-mails from the Congressman to one or more Congressional pages has ended in forced resignation - but the finger pointing continues. It is nearly impossible to talk about news of the scandal without mentioning the term October Surprise (first used in 1968). The recent release of the 2005 e-mails derailed Foley's candidacy - and deservedly so! But now the Liberal wackos are trying to implicate House Speaker Denny Hastert in an effort to pick up seats in the House. It's not important whether Hastert knew last year. There is only one issue to focus on here: Homosexuals in the Republican Party.

Conservative activists are beginning to discuss the Mark Foley scandal as indicative of a GOP that has become too tolerant of gays in their midst. Regardless of the party's efforts against gay marriage, the argument goes, the fact that Republican officials accept gay congressmen, such as Foley, and staffers will mean the party will have problems. The point of the scandal is this: For generations, Washington, D.C., has been home to a community of gay and lesbian politicians and staffers who live in the closet, hiding their private lives for fear of ostracism if not persecution. The question I want to debate is whether Foley's homosexuality is part of the problem and what led to his inappropriate behavior with pages.

As a Conservative thinker, I firmly believe that homosexuality leads directly to interest in underage partners. I need to add here that there's as yet no evidence of any improper physical contact between Foley and the former pages - despite what the Liberal media is trying to sell you. Denny Hastert responded to the behavior precisely the way that Liberal protectors of gay rights have responded to other scandals (take Barney Frank in 1987, for instance). Early warnings of Foley's behavior toward young male pages may have been overlooked or treated with deference, fearing a backlash from the radical gay rights movement. Why is this backlash such a big deal on Capitol Hill?

Answer: There is a much larger network of gay and lesbian staffers than anyone in the media is reporting. There are homosexuals in prominent positions, for conservative politicians in fervent opposition to gay rights. This is the real issue brought to light with the Mark Foley scandal. The members of the network protect each other. In fact, there seems to be a sort of "velvet mafia" of gay staffers and politicians on Capitol Hill (coined by ABCNews). As Conservatives, we will need to deal with the issue of gays in the Republican Party during the next few years. Many of us have been asking why the Republicans seem anemic when it comes time to stand up for truth. I believe this is one of the answers!

Liberal Wackos Attempt to Smear Senator George Allen

With the mid-term general election nearly a month away, the Liberal Left wackos of the Democratic Party are pulling out all the stops in key states. As an example, Hillary Rodham (the Queen of the Liberal Liars) will show up in Virginia to help the Democratic candidate James Webb defeat Senator George Allen. The Liberal media has also jumped on this bandwagon to smear Allen's reputation. Regardless of what the Liberal media wants to sell you, the leadership of the Democratic Party is not riding a freight train.

Howard Dean and the other Liberal wackos merely want revenge for Senator George Allen increasing the number of Republican Senators from 51 to 55 when he was Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2004. They want revenge for knocking off the Chief Obstructionist – Tom Daschle. This is the primary reason they want to defeat George Allen in November. And they are attempting to defeat Allen using every Liberal Lie and trick in the DNCC playbook - even to the point of dragging Ronald Reagan into the picture. How can this happen, you ask?

The Liberal Democrats are pouring in millions of dollars to Virginia. They know they have to pick off just a few GOP senators to gain control of the Senate. If the Democrats defeat Allen and make other gains, they will gain control of the Senate. The new Senate would be led by Ted Kennedy, Hillary Rodham, John Kerry, Joe Biden and others. Can you imagine the Liberal lunacy we'd experience, my Conservative friend? As I stated earlier this week, the grass root voters of the Democratic Party are unempowered and unmotivated. The Conservatives in Virginia need to get to the voting booths on November 7.

Senator Allen is a strong Reagan Republican – for less government, less taxes and a strong national defense (attention public skrewl graduates: he's Conservative). James Webb is a former Republican who joined the Democratic Party merely for expedience. Today, Webb is airing commercials of Ronald Reagan twenty years ago saying kind comments when he was Secretary of the Navy – all in a phony effort to make it look like Reagan is endorsing him! Nancy Reagan issued a public statement that Webb stop using her deceased husband’s image and words for his own political ambition. Now what are the chances of a Liberal wacko doing the right thing?

Hijacked Democrat Grass Roots Feel No Empowerment

The mainstream Democrats have been hijacked. Outspoken members of the Liberal Left (such as poster boy Michael Moore) have derailed the true Democratic Party platform. Two months ago, Michael Moore issued a political death threat to the mainstreamers in the Democrat Party: "To every Democratic Senator and Congressman who continues to back Bush's War, allow me to inform you that your days in elective office are numbered. If you don't believe me, give Joe Lieberman a call." This is just a tiny sample of what passes for political energy in the Liberal wacko blogosphere.

In short, Moore is saying the Democratic Party needs to stick a finger down its throat and purge all the poisonous traitors and "moderate" members of the Leadership Council from its gut. Apparently, there was no better place to start than in Connecticut with a hearty upchuck of Joe Lieberman. Senator Lieberman's response on CNN was simply "I don't want these folks (those educated in the public skrewl should read this as Liberal wackos) to take over my Party..." It's too late, Joe. The wackos have stolen every shred of grass roots empowerment. The Liberal wackos have become the Democratic mainstream.

This is great news for the Republicans. The nation as a whole is able to recognize Liberal stupidity. The Democrats are now between a political rock and a hard place. To win a general election, they must somehow convince the nation that they are serious about strong national defense and can operate with adult temperament. The good news here is that even sane members of the traditional left see the impossible dilemma. Martin Peretz stated it succinctly in the Wall Street Journal (August 7): "If people like Ned Lamont win the general election, the Democratic Party will lose the future!"

Never has a political party won anything big by moving left, and then further left. That is exactly what the Democratic Party is doing. They have no forward vision whatsoever. They have no plan. They have no agenda they can be honest about. They must continually live behind a mask. Look for Hillary Rodham to continue changing masks several times during the next two years. She's going to listen to Michael Moore and the pundits who have hijacked her Party. The intelligent American voter will recognize her lack of direction and keep her away from the White House in 2008. Even as I celebrate today, I can't help but feel sorry for the Democratic grass roots.
